Russia is open to everyone, but its citizens will not be able to accept back those who went abroad and from there, “with their mouths open,” “began to scold their Motherland,” not to mention the fact that they began to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov in an interview with the MGIMO 360 information channel.
The Kremlin speaker expressed the opinion that among those who left the country there are many confused and frightened people.
“Fear is a normal feeling that is inherent in a person in certain life situations. There’s nothing wrong with that. And some even left the country. But someone left the country and began to scold their Motherland, to discredit their Motherland. It will be very difficult for these people to return,” – he said.
As Peskov emphasized, “everyone has one homeland,” and it is “always open to everyone except enemies.”
“Don’t forget that there are those who left, there are those who are now there, abroad, collecting money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Tries to help the Ukrainian army. He speaks at various socio-political events and scolds our country. In many ways, it slanderes our country,” – indicated the press secretary of the head of state.
He expressed confidence that it would be impossible for such people to return to Russia.
“I’m not even talking about the laws that will apply to them. People won’t accept them.” – stated Peskov.
According to him, citizens in Russia are heartbroken for their country.
“They will always accept those who are confused – and there is no reason to forgive them, they are not to blame. But for those who, roughly speaking, have opened their mouths against their country, it will be very difficult for them to explain themselves to the people who live with us. This will be a big problem for them.” – the Kremlin representative emphasized.
Peskov does not agree with the statement that a significant part of young people have left Russia.
“So many guys went to the front as volunteers. How many guys went to the front in different units. How many have mobilized and are now fighting. After all, they all stayed here,” – he pointed out.
In addition, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation focused on the fact that only a “small part” of society went abroad. In his opinion, such actions cannot be explained by allegedly insufficient explanations from the state.
“That is, everyone understood, but they didn’t understand. It’s probably more their problem. And it’s not for the state to deal with these problems,” – says Peskov, quoted by TASS.
