Upcoming Weekend Weather Forecast: Cold Start, Milder End

Despite being in the last autumn month of the year, this week has been colder than normal. But towards the weekend it will turn around.

A low pressure is on its way to the south of the country on Friday, and with it comes the rainfall. But there is also a warm front that hits, and then it gets a little milder. That’s what meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute, Ingri Halland Soldal, says.

– There will be some rainfall on Saturday, especially in the Rogaland, Agder and Telemark area, the meteorologist tells Dagbladet.

Both in Stavanger and Kristiansand it will be around three to six plus degrees during the weekend.

Mildest along the coast

For those who will take part in the Beitos Sprint this weekend, the meteorologist says that Saturday looks promising. Then it is reported to be around minus five degrees.

– So it can be a nice day to go skiing. Sunday is a little more uncertain, where the temperature may rise a little.

Minus 75,5!

In Eastern Norway, we will see the same tendency, according to Soldal.

– The heat front will pass north-east, so it will be milder.

It will be mildest along the coast. Further inland, temperatures will stay in the minus. according to Yr the weekend temperature in Oslo, among others, will be minus one to minus two degrees.

Cloudy stay weather

In Western Norway, it is a little more uncertain, the meteorologist says.

– They can be lucky there, and there will be good weather on Saturday at least. But there will be varying cloud cover there as well.

Much of the same will happen in Trøndelag and Møre and Romsdal.

– There may be an occasional shower, and it will become a little more cloudy.

In terms of temperature, it will be around 5-6 plus degrees on the coast, while inland it will be minus degrees. The coldest will be in the interior of Trøndelag with minus seven degrees, Soldal says.

The weather is turning: – More hours of sunshine

Hazard warnings

On Friday, two were issued farevarsel for snow drifts and strong winds in northern Norway. The first starts at midnight and applies to Vest-Finnmark and parts of Nord-Troms. It lasts until Friday at 10 o’clock.

– Be prepared for possible convoy driving or closed roads if you are going over the mountain, Meteorologists write on X/Twitter.

– There is an increase in the wind there now due to the low pressure passing north, and quite a few snow showers are expected, says Soldal.

From 03:00 a.m. to Friday, the danger warning applies to further east in Finnmark. Finnmarksvidda is not under the warning. It lasts until midnight on Saturday.

At the coast, the temperature on Friday will be around zero degrees, and Soldal states that some places will be at a couple of plus degrees.
