The focus of the conversation was the networking of Styria with the US metropolis, with potential cooperation topics being explored, particularly in the areas of green technologies and life sciences. In a further step, Styria will approach the New York city government with concrete proposals regarding cooperation. Commissioner Mermelstein was also interested in Formula 1 at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg and the handling of this major event. Styria’s many years of experience in the Grand Prix area were exchanged.
Governor Christopher Drexler: “We were able to explore promising cooperation potential in New York City and make new contacts for Styria. The interest of the New York city government shows that Styria has international appeal as a strong research country but also as a host country for major events. We will promote potential collaboration with the US metropolis and further network the green heart internationally.”
