Head of Medical PSSI Syarif Alwi revealed the reason why Amar Brkic was hot when playing half a round in 2023 U-17 World Cup.

Brkic played in the second half. At first Brkic was nervous, but finally got up. After the match, this German-born player admitted that he was hot because of the air temperature in Surabaya.

Ahead of the match against Morocco on Thursday (16/11) Syarif said Brkic’s condition was getting better. The man who is usually called Papi explained the reason why Brkic was so hot.

“Because he was born in Germany. We know that when he came here the temperature was still very hot. He only had to adapt for seven to eight days,” said Syarif when met in Surabaya, Wednesday (15/11).

“Thank God, even though he felt hot, after lunch, he really enjoyed it, he was really ready for the next match,” said the doctor who has been in the national team for a dozen years.

Regarding why Brkic was played by Bima Sakti in the second half, he admitted that he did not know the exact reason. What is certain, said Syarif, is that it is in accordance with the conditions and strategy that will be implemented.

“Maybe that’s the strategy and adapts to his condition. We know Amar from childhood in Germany. His father is an orthopedist and his mother is a pediatrician,” he said.

Regarding diet, rest and maintaining stamina, Brkic is said to be very wise. Even though he is still young, he already knows what he can and cannot do so that his condition does not deteriorate.

“His parents are very supportive of him. His son’s good habits provide information to our nutritional and medical teams without interfering. He is in good condition,” said Syarif.

The Indonesian U-17 national team will face Morocco at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya on Thursday (16/11) evening. This is the match that determines qualification for the round of 16.
