(CNN) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah updated the total number of deaths in the Gaza Strip to 11,255,000 since October 7, when Israel launched strikes inside the Strip in response to a Hamas attack inside Israel.
The Palestinian Health Ministry added that, according to the numbers, 4,630 of the 11,255,000 dead were children.
The Palestinian Ministry, which derives its data from its offices in the Hamas-controlled Strip, said in a statement on Tuesday that it faces great difficulties in obtaining updated information due to communications situations in Gaza.
The Palestinian Health statement comes on the eve of the Israeli army’s announcement, at dawn on Wednesday, that it is launching a “precise and targeted” operation inside Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest hospital in Gaza, targeting Hamas activists who are allegedly working under the building, which the movement and hospital officials deny.
