The police caught a wrong-way driver on the A10 ring road last night after the driver had driven in the wrong direction for ‘several kilometers’. The woman’s driver’s license was confiscated and the car was taken by the police. There were no injuries.
The motorist was driving on the outer lane of the ring at 100 kilometers per hour, which is 20 kilometers per hour too fast on that stretch of the A10, for a few kilometers against traffic. The woman was trapped by several police cars between the exits S106 (Osdorp) and S107 (Slotervaart).
After the crash, the police investigated the stretch of highway for about two hours, resulting in two lanes being closed. Ultimately, both the wrong-way driver’s car and the police car had to be towed away by a recovery company.
