Anticipation for GTA 6 has reached its peak, as it has been more than a decade since Rockstar released the last Grand Theft Auto game, and during an interview, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, which owns Rockstar, the game’s developer, revealed new details about the title. Next.
He also explained how the emergence of generative AI could make the next Grand Theft Auto game better, and in an interview at the Bali International Council Summit, Zelnick sounded optimistic about AI when asked about the technology’s benefits for the video game industry, Inverse reported.
However, he expressed concern that “it may be better, but it certainly won’t be faster and cheaper,” and Zelnick also predicted that the race to adopt AI would force Take-Two to make significant investments in developing its own products.
Zelnick also explained that the investment could be worth it and noted that one area where generative AI could improve games is in non-player characters, and also noted that AI could add more variety to dialogues and attract more players to keep coming back.
He said: Everyone is working on it. You are a playable character, interacting with an NPC. This interaction is currently written. And the NPCs are generally not that interesting. You can imagine that all the NPCs became really interesting and fun.
GTA 6: What we know so far
However, Zelnick did not confirm whether GTA 6 will use AI to improve NPCs or to create a larger map like in Starfield. Aside from confirming Rockstar’s open-world sequel, he didn’t share any other details.
Recently, rumors of the first official GTA 6 trailer have been circulating around the internet. Last week, Rockstar quickly confirmed the leak and announced that the trailer would coincide with Rockstar’s 25th anniversary next December.
In an email statement, Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser said: “In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could become as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment. Our efforts to be part of this development. We are very happy to tell you that in early December, we will be releasing the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game.
