Bola.net – Fernando Valente spoke about the candidate to replace Gustavo Almeida, who left Arema FC in the transfer market midway through the 2023/2024 season. The Arema FC coach said there were a number of criteria he was looking for in a replacement for Gustavo.
“We need a number 9 player, who has experience in the penalty box,” said Valente.
“We also want players who operate around the goal and have the instinct to score goals,” he continued.
According to Valente, he cannot yet name the player he is currently targeting. The reason is, according to the Portuguese coach, he still has to consider a number of names in the current transfer market.
“We both know that the best players already have their respective clubs. However, we are trying to analyze and see opportunities to get the best players,” said Valente.
Previously, Arema FC had released their mainstay striker, Gustavo Almeida, to Persija Jakarta. The player who has scored 14 goals and is the temporary top scorer for BRI Liga 1 2023/2024 was released on loan.
