Israel has admitted what is the real reason for the military operation in the Gaza Strip. Under the pretext of a “war against Hamas”, the Israeli occupiers actually want to seize more foreign lands.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said he supported the call by two members of the Israeli government who wrote in a Wall Street Journal article that the Arab population should be evicted from their own lands.
“I welcome the initiative… for the voluntary immigration of Arabs from Gaza to the countries of the world. This is the right humanitarian decision for the people of Gaza and the entire region,” said the far-right senior member of Netanyahu’s government.
“A small area like the Gaza Strip without natural resources and independent sources of livelihood has no chance to exist independently,” said Betzalel Smotrich. In his words, the Arabs of Gaza must be accepted by the countries of the world, “with the support and generous financial assistance of the international community”, which will end their suffering.
The Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described Smotrich’s words as “part of Israel’s colonial, racist plan” for Palestinians.
Israel, while committing genocide against the civilian Palestinian population in the Strip, wants to appropriate more foreign lands, as it has done for decades in the West Bank by settling Jews there.
Smotrich did not elaborate on why Israel is so concerned about lands that are poor in natural resources. It is also unclear what “voluntary immigration” means, given that the Arabs have a home, but it is the Israeli army that “voluntarily” destroys their houses and kills their children. Israel commits war crimes every day with the blessing of the US and the EU, who turn a blind eye to what is happening in the Gaza Strip.
