During the second discussion session of the conference, which addressed the topic “Restaurants and Financial Technology and their Role in Serving Consumers,” Bader Al-Ghanim, Vice President and Managing Director of Talabat Kuwait Company, pointed to the steady growth in the level of use of technology and the demand for it in meeting consumer requirements. He stressed that the main motivation and objectives of Talabat are to facilitate the lives of the public by providing services and products effectively. Thanks to the continuous efforts and innovations included within its strategy, Talabat contributes to building a prosperous economic environment, from which individuals and project owners alike benefit, as it is a haven for small and medium enterprise owners to provide their services and products at competitive prices. Al-Ghanim attributed the credit to Talabat’s diverse partnerships with local logistics service providers, which number 600 licensed companies, most of whom are small and medium-sized companies, and its significant investment in advanced technology.
While speaking about the company’s future plans, Talabat’s Chief Financial Officer, Khaled Al-Faqsh, disclosed a group of technical financial services, which the Talabat platform intends to adopt in the Kuwaiti market. It included the possibility of extending the payment period to 30 days from the moment the order was started by adding the “Pay Later” service. He stated that this feature has already been launched through UAE requests, expressing his hope to launch it in the Kuwaiti market to give users more financial flexibility after the legislative and legal rules regulating this are issued by the competent authorities.
