For the second quarter in a row, the economy appears to be shrinking. If so, the Danish economy is in a technical recession. It shows an indicator for growth in gross national product (GDP) in the third quarter, according to Statistics Denmark.
However, an uncertainty of 0.5 percentage points is attached to the figures, and the GDP indicator suggests a decrease of 0.3 per cent.
This is the same decline as in the second quarter.
If the figures are correct, the Danish economy is hit by a “clear-cut technical recession”, according to chief economist Tore Stramer of the business organization Dansk Erhverv.
