As pro-Kremlin media write, citing sources in the aviation industry, the Swiss civil aviation service provider SITA, which administers the .aero domain zone. , decided to stop servicing clients from Russia

The companies received a corresponding message about this on November 10 from Ru-Center, one of the organizations authorized in Russia that registers the corresponding domain names.

More than 200 websites are registered in the .aero domain zone. It is used by about 30 Russian airports (Sheremetyevo, Zhukovsky, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Airports of Regions, Aerodinamika, etc. holdings), as well as 15 airlines.

Reference

The international aviation domain zone .aero was created in 2002 specifically for industry representatives. This domain can only be used by airlines, airports, space and aviation industries, airline clubs, ticket sales systems, aircraft crews, ground services, etc.

It also allows companies to improve brand awareness and increase customer trust.

You can register a .aero domain only after obtaining a unique aviation community affiliation identifier. That is, if it is abolished on the territory of the Russian Federation, airline passengers will not be able to buy a ticket without having another alternative.
