A Diwali like this too… 7 villages of Tamil Nadu, where firecrackers are not burst, you will be surprised to know the reason

Erode (Tamil Nadu). While the sound of firecrackers is being heard across the country on the occasion of Diwali, in seven villages of Erode district of Tamil Nadu, the festival was celebrated only with lights and crackers were not burst in view of the conservation of birds in the nearby bird sanctuary. These villages are located around Vadamugam Velode, 10 km from Erode, where there is a bird sanctuary.

This year too, Selappampalayam, Vadamugam Vellode, Semmandampalayam, Karukkankattu Valasu, Pungampadi and two other villages maintained the respectable tradition of a ‘quiet’ Diwali. They have been following this conservation approach by not bursting crackers on Diwali for the last 22 years. Thousands of local species of birds and migratory birds from other areas visit the sanctuary between October and January to lay and hatch eggs.

Since, Diwali usually falls in the month of October or November, more than 900 families living around the bird sanctuary decided not to burst crackers in view of the protection of the birds as the birds face problems due to the loud noise and pollution. May fall.

Villagers said that during Diwali, they buy new clothes for their children and allow them to light only sparklers and not burst crackers so that the birds do not face any kind of trouble.
