“We always express that education and work are two fundamental pillars for a community to grow and have a future”
The Corridor of Old Market Cultural Complex (CCVM) was the scene of an emotional meeting in which the achievement of 30 students was celebrated, who received the support of the FOLLOW HER!he Follow the same and the Support Line for Youth and Adults (LAJA) from Municipality of Rafaela.
The event was attended by Mayor Luis Castellanothe Secretary of Education, Mariana Andereggenas well as coordinators, teachers of municipal programs, students and their families.
As always happens in this type of event, there was a moving moment where the students were recognized for their participation in the educational programs integrated into the Education secretary.
On the one hand, SEGUILA!, which currently has a team of 12 teachers, 6 tutors and a coordinator, and which continues to add graduated students to the program, whose work extends both in the morning and in the afternoon, taking advantage of the resources of the Municipal Historical Archive and the “Lermo R. Balbi” Municipal Library.
On the other hand, Seguila Igual celebrated the graduation of one of its students, while the LAJA program, which provides support to young people and adults who are pursuing their secondary studies in different modalities and institutions, celebrated the graduation of students from the EEMPA Virtual Nº 1330 and the Baccalaureate linked to the Municipal Trades Training Center.
These gatherings are a source of pride, not only for celebrating individual goals, where students complete their high school studies and obtain their degree, often being the first in their families to achieve this goal. In addition, they highlight the importance of educational support programs that contribute to a more inclusive and accessible future in terms of rights.
Education and work, two fundamental pillars
He Mayor Luis Castellano He left his mark on the importance of the State accompanying educational processes. “If the State is not there to accompany, who is there? From our government management we always express that education and work are two fundamental pillars for a community to develop, grow, and have a future.”.
“In Rafaela we have universities, we have 94 university courses, but if they don’t finish high school, how are they going to study at a university? And if, on the other hand, companies begin to ask you, as they already do, for compulsory secondary school, how are they going to work? So for that problem that we detected in a timely manner, we put together these programs.”
Castellano also commented “The program fills with content when you give it the content and decide to finish high school. And that is the first thing I want to thank, because although times have changed and now it is like there is no longer such a specific age to study, studying always requires time, effort and dedication. The fact that you have been able, with all your difficulties on your back, to finish studying speaks very well of you and of the example that you give to your families, fundamentally.”
Castellano extended his gratitude to the entire work team that carries out this type of programs. “Also thank the work team because they put a tremendous will and vocation into it. I always say, These things cannot be carried out if one does not love what one does.. If you don’t love education, if you don’t have a vocation to teach, you can’t get involved in this. Here you have to be patient, you have to have understanding, because not only educational but also human relationships intersect.”
Lastly, the Secretary of Education, Mariana AndereggenHe added: “Every time we have these meetings with the graduates, the emotion is renewed and we cannot help but cry with them when they recognize, in first person, the possibility that this accompaniment from the State gave them, added to their own efforts, to reach this desired title. From the beginning, with the name we gave to the flagship program of this line, which is Seguila, we knew that this is not a closure, but rather a key that opens to other possibilities. This was well reflected in people’s testimonies; from this title, possibilities of work, study, of thinking of oneself as university students, or of being an example for children and grandchildren open up.”
The importance of the work team and a present State
“It is also exciting to hear that the participants highlight the human side of the team, both the tutors and the teachers who put their heart into this, who are the ones who, many times, change their schedules according to people’s jobs. . And in closing, highlight the need for these programs to continue, regardless of the political color of being in the government, we must talk about a present state that cannot abandon these spaces in the territory and must continue to accompany the efforts of so many Rafael men and women. ”Andereggen concluded.
Testimonials from graduates
Néstor was one of the 30 students who received his degree, he indicated: “it was a very big effort, it took many years, but I reached the goal, I reached the purpose which was to be able to finish the degree. secondary. In the middle there were many falls but the teachers always helped me, they gave me their support, they were always there saying Néstor, you can do it, Néstor is almost there, Néstor, don’t give up now. So first of all I thank God for everything I have and also, I don’t want to forget, the political people who have always provided these services so that young people and adults can finish the school”.
The program integrates and encourages people of all ages to complete their secondary studies, such is the case of Rita. “I’m Rita, I’m 61 years old, it’s been 40 years since I left high school due to family problems and I started again at Vuelvo a Estudio with the group from the Barranquitas neighborhood. It was an honor for me to be able to finish this course. I thank the teachers, the Municipality for opening the doors to us and giving us their service of providing us with teachers and computers. So I am proud to say that the study does not take up space.”
Finally, Graciela, another of the graduates, recounted her journey through the course. “My thing was to fulfill a dream. I was educated in a country school where after finishing primary school I had to work and I never had the opportunity to continue studying. Then this came up and I said yes, I’m going to do it. So here we are, we can say, mission accomplished.”
