Italian media confirmed that Napoli decided to dismiss coach Rudi Garcia from his position, pointing out that the French coach had become permanently outside the club management’s accounts.
La Gazzetta newspaper said, “Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis decided to dismiss Rudi Garcia, after a significant decline in the team’s results during the current season.”

She explained, “The team’s loss at home on Sunday against Empoli with an unanswered goal confirmed that the French coach no longer has a place in the ranks of the Italian League title holders.”
She added, “Garcia will not supervise the team’s training next Wednesday, after the players will rest for two days, as the club has already begun talks with coach Igor Todor to take over the job.”
She continued, “Many other names have been proposed, such as Walter Mazzarri and Fabio Cannavaro, but Tudor remains the most prominent candidate to lead the South team.”
She concluded, “The 46-year-old Croatian coach was a candidate to coach Napoli, with whom he negotiated in the summer, but the club ultimately chose to contract with Garcia, before Tudor returned again to the list of options of Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.”
