Yes, I believe that every company needs to be embodied by its boss, its manager, and that is very important for the employees, and overall that’s how it works. He is the one who drives, who tells the story, and I have the impression that this is even more true in sport, and even more true in football where, beyond the employees, there is everything the environment of a club, including supporters, partners and followers, who need to have a referent on a daily basis. This referent, I don’t know if it needs to be there, because there are plenty of diagrams that exist. Bernard Tapie, Claude Bez… We haven’t always had great leaders in French football who did just that. But we did not imagine at the time that Claude Bez was both President of the Girondins de Bordeaux, and of another club, or that Bernard Tapie defended both OM and Toulon. Beyond the daily presence which is another subject, in my opinion it is difficult for multi-owners to position themselves as the embodiment of the club when they have several. And the subject that came to me was that of John Textor, who we see on Sunday in Marseille when Lyon gets his bus stoned, and three days later with a striped jersey and a Botafogo cap in Rio, Brazil, by train to defend a club. However, the communities of supporters are completely watertight, they need a referent, and a referent who gives the impression of defending them all day long, and of never being in several Indian villages.
