Techno.id – By default, the iPhone takes 12MP or 24MP photos on the iPhone 15 series. However, some settings can lower this number because you accidentally activate it.
Adjust the camera aspect ratio
Aspect ratio is basically the ratio of the width to height of an image. The default aspect ratio on the iPhone is 4:3 because the camera sensor is 4:3.
If you have set the aspect ratio to something else, the iPhone will only use a portion of its sensor, leading to lower detail thereby enabling lower megapixels. Here’s how to change the iPhone camera aspect ratio.

1. Open the default Camera app on iPhone and make sure the phone is in Photo mode.
2. Swipe up in Photo mode to open camera options.
3. Tap where it says 16:9 or 1:1. Then, select 4:3 from the available options.
4. If your aspect ratio returns to 16:9 or 1:1 when relaunching the Camera app, you can fix it in Settings > Camera > Preserve Settings. Disable Creative Controls, and your aspect ratio will return to the default every time you launch the camera app.
Shooting in Pro format

The iPhone 14 Pro and 15 Pro models can produce the best image resolution if you shoot in Pro format. But since it is not enabled by default, you have to follow these steps.
1. Go to Settings > Camera and tap Format.
2. Make sure Photo Mode is set to 24MP.
3. Enable ProRAW & Resolution Control.
4. Tap Pro Default and select HEIF Max or ProRAW Max.
While resolution and megapixels aren’t the only things you need to take good photos, they do offer a minimum standard for image quality. With higher megapixels, you have photos that can be used for many things and manipulated without losing too much quality.
