Now in Malaysia, the 2023 Aprilia RS660 Extrema is available, priced at RM79,900 (Rp. 266 million), excluding road tax, insurance and registration. The name Extrema refers to the Aprilia 125 Extrema which was produced from 1992 to 1994.
As the sportiest version of the RS660, the RS660 Extrema is 3 kg lighter than the standard model, so its dry weight reaches 166 kg. The liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine remains unchanged, with 100 hp at 10,000 rpm and 67 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm from 660 cc.
The SC Project’s new, lighter street-legal exhaust system with carbon silencer contributes to the weight savings. Unlike the RS660, where the exhaust is under the engine along with the catalytic converter, the Extrema has the exhaust exiting on the right.
Carbon fiber front fenders and belly pan also reduce weight, while a single seat cover replaces the pillion seat. A pillion seat is provided if the rider wishes to switch the Extrema to a two-seat configuration.
A full suite of riding aids including traction control, ABS, engine brake, engine map and wheelie control are all customizable and standard equipment.
