The Portuguese driver still tried to return to the race, but without success.
Italian rider Enea Bastianini (Ducati) today won the Malaysian MotoGP Grand Prix, the 18th race of the season, in which Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) withdrew due to a fall.
Bastianini spent 39.59.137 minutes to complete the 20 laps, leaving the Spaniard Alex Marquez (Ducati) in second place, at 1.535 seconds, and the Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) in third, at 3.562.
Bagnaia extended his lead in the World Championship to 14 points with two races remaining, as Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati) did not go beyond fourth place.
Miguel Oliveira retired after suffering a crash in the seventh of 20 laps of the main race. The Portuguese, who started from 19th position, crashed at turn nine of the Malaysian Sepang circuit when he was running in 20th place. “Falcão” still tried to return to the race, but without success.
This was the Almada-born rider’s fifth fall in the Motorcycling World Speed Championship this season. Oliveira had crashed in Portugal, Spain, Italy and in the Austrian GP sprint race.
To these retirements, the 28-year-old rider also has withdrawals in the Netherlands, Austria (main race), Japan and Thailand due to technical problems in the 2022 Aprilia of the RNF team.
