Niels Albert (37) suddenly looks different. The former cyclo-cross rider and analyst has a shaved head after a hair transplant.
Niels Albert has been suffering from hair loss for several years. It runs in the family because both his grandfather and father also had little hair. Albert was able to cover up the loss of his hair for a long time with wax or gel, but now he opted for a radical procedure.
Last Wednesday Albert received a hair transplant from a doctor in Hasselt. Albert had to shave his head for this, not ideal in these temperatures. He is also not allowed to wear a cap or hat for the first week, because it still has to heal first.
No shame
Albert does not want to discuss the cost of the procedure, but he deliberately chose not to have it done cheaper in Turkey. “But I didn’t want to go to Turkey; the language barrier was too big for me,” he says HLN.
Albert also fully supports his choice to have the procedure performed. “No one has to interfere with that. Everyone can have an opinion about it. But ultimately it is my choice, my body. I don’t understand the secret surrounding aesthetic interventions.”
You will have to wait a few more weeks for the end result of the hair transplant until Albert’s hair has grown back. But the former cyclo-cross rider clearly has no shame.
