The voluntary visiting service is a free additional offer for people cared for by the Arbeiter-Samariterbund Wien. With your voluntary contribution you will help to improve the quality of life of these people.
What tasks do visiting services perform?
The primary task of the visiting service is to
* keep the clients company,
* have conversations with them and
* to enable them to do activities that they would not have the chance to do on their own (e.g. shopping, going to the park, playing cards,…)
The operating times of the visiting services are planned by agreement with your clients and in consultation with the office of the Arbeiter-Samariterbund.
You don’t have to look after clients you don’t want to look after!
In situations where you feel overwhelmed, please consult the operations manager.
How can I become a visiting service?
* You come to meet us personally and have a preliminary discussion
to our office.
* You attend a 16 hour first aid course (free)
* You accompany a member of staff to potential clients who you get to know, after which you can take on visiting duties with one or more of these clients.
What are you offered for working as a visiting service?
Your own equipment for your visiting services
Free participation in our training courses, for example on the topics:
* Guidelines, legal basis
* Communication
* Diseases in old age
* Using aids (e.g. wheelchair)
* Basics of validation
