There were protests across Europe over the weekend calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

According to Reuters, a demonstration in support of Palestine was held in London on the 11th, which was Memorial Day in the UK, with a police estimate of 300,000 people.

Thousands of people also protested in Paris, France, under the slogan “Stop the massacre in Gaza.”

While demonstrations in support of Palestine were held in other cities such as Marseille, Toulouse, and Rennes, extreme right-wing groups attempted to invade a Palestinian event in Lyon and resorted to violence.

Thousands of people gathered in Brussels, Belgium, Berlin, and Munich, Germany, each calling for a ceasefire, and protests were also held in Barcelona, Spain, demanding a halt to Israeli military actions.

Saudi Arabia’s de facto leader, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also joined the call to stop the war.

At the special summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the 11th local time, Crown Prince Bin Salman urged Israel to end the siege of the Gaza Strip and allow humanitarian aid.

He placed responsibility for the situation on Israel, saying, “Responsibility for crimes committed against the Palestinian people lies with the occupation authorities.”

In relation to this, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his stance that he would retain control even after the war ends.

Prime Minister Netanyahu raised his voice, saying, “The autonomous government will educate children to hate and kill Israel,” and added, “Under any circumstances, we cannot give up security control in the Gaza Strip.”
