New Delhi’s Ayodhya Diwali Celebration Breaks World Record with 22 Lakh Lamps

New Delhi: Ayodhya witnessed Diwali celebrations lit up with 22 lakh lamps. Officials have clarified that the lights lit on Saturday evening on the occasion of the celebration broke the world record. The Ram temple, which is currently under construction, was also decorated with lamps.

The record announcement was made at a ceremony attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel. The government had also organized special cultural programs in conjunction with the festival.

Guests from 50 countries attended the ceremony. The seventh edition of the Dipotsavam, which started after Yogi Adityanath came to power in 2017, was celebrated on Saturday.

For those who could not attend the festival, the government had also provided the facility to light the lamp through the mobile app called Holi Ayodhya. 101 per lamp was charged.

The biggest of these was a package of 51 lamps worth Rs 1100. The government has also provided temple prasad in each package. 15.76 lakh earthen lamps were lit during last year’s festival.
