Installing Windows 11 even for laymen
To the delight of those interested, soon Installing Windows 11 on a Valve handheld will be significantly simplified. Behind-the-scenes information was revealed by programmer Lawrence Yang, who is one of the team members working on the upcoming versions of SteamOS.
From Yang’s statement, we learn that the Steam Deck will be received an official wizard that allows even a complete layman to install Windows 11 on it. What’s more, Microsoft’s OS will not overwrite SteamOS, but will instead be loaded in parallelto function in the dual-boot model.
The plan assumes that there will be enough for the user bootable pendrive with the system, and all necessary activities, including the installation of drivers, will be carried out by the wizard on its own. He will also take care of the appropriate settings so that the Steam Deck is immediately ready for play.
Steam Deck is stronger than ever
Let’s note that in the light of these reports, things are getting very interesting situation on the PC handheld market. Until now, it was believed that the Steam Deck was a great machine, but it is two main disadvantages. The first is the screen, the second – the inability to use the Game Pass service.
The issue of the screen is addressed by the OLED model, and as you can see, there is also a specific plan to address the allegations about the lack of access to Game Pass. Of course, competitive ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go are still simply more efficientbut they are noticeably more expensive, and Valve can add further arguments on its side.
