In my opinion there are only two things to keep in mind when recommending to others in the world. One movie, two food. People who like food don’t necessarily like movies. That’s why the movie is rarely talked about in public. But today it is impossible not to talk about a movie. Jigarthanda XX Directed by Karthik Subbaraj Kathayethuti. If you ask why only Karthik is being talked about without mentioning the names of other lead actors, the answer is very simple. Karthik has done his job very precisely and beautifully in this movie. I am generally a huge fan of the ambience Karthik creates in his films. Karthik will create a very interesting cinematic experience with visuals and background score. This movie is a continuation of that. But if you ask why this movie stands out, it can be said in one line Art is politics. Artist is Politician. Karthik says politics is the most powerful through the world’s most powerful media. He has used Tamil super actors for it. It turned out to be a commercial film because it used the best music, the best visuals, and the best artists. It became a movie that many people came to the theater to watch and talk about.
The first part of Jigarthanda is something we all know. It was a very interesting film that told the story of a gangster and a film within a film. Although it is not a sequel, this is a film that starts in almost the same way. But here Karthik is paying a tribute to cinema with a movie within a movie. Audiences in the theater will be thrilled when the ever-relevant topic is told with the help of the greatest medium of cinema. At one point in the film, there is a much more powerful sidekick pointing the camera at the hero who is holding a gun. In this frame is what film is and why film should be made. Jigarthanda is a textbook for aspiring filmmakers. Karthik very accurately says that cinema is the greatest weapon. When searching for history, the first thing young people look for is movies from that era. Jigarthanda also teaches that historical films should be honest.
Personally, what surprised me the most was the writing of this movie. It’s still a bit surprising how a very commercial minded film can contain such strong politics. The award for its writing is that the second day after I watched the movie, the same high remained. Karthik simply presents his extraordinary writing through the brilliance of filmmaking. Karthik should be applauded for his decision to use the film itself. It is surprising that the director, who uses the template of gangster films in the first half, prepares it in the second half. That landing is the soul of this film. Karthik is amazing as he shows how he can create a stronger film with the same plot as the first film. Yesterday there were less than ten people including my friends in the theater to watch the first show of this movie. But after the movie, we friends and strangers had a lot to talk about. Getting a high after coming back home and saying it now. That is what says so much about the movie without saying anything about the story or the performance.
Jigarthanda Double X’s politics is about people who use their followers for their own interests and their powers. Those in power prey on their beloved people. It destroys an entire community. Power always has only one colour, that of Chera. Jigarthanda is also a story of resistance to oppression. You can watch this movie without any of this i.e. without understanding the politics and thinking deeply. This movie will satisfy even the average movie buff.
There are some actors who become sharper and brighter in the hands of a crafty director. Raghava Lawrence is one such actor. Caesar in Jigarthanda Double X is the best character of his career. Along with that, SJ, Surya, Malayalee star Nimisha, who have always won applause, have been crushed in the film. And every department like songs, locations and artwork of the film deserves applause. The presence of music director Santhosh Narayanan in a Karthik Subbaraj film is like a breath of life. Santhosh Narayanan shows how music can be original and stylish in plots that alternate between country, jungle and city.
Finally, this is all… You can enjoy this movie in many ways. Just enjoy it as a gangster film. It can be used as an answer to why a film lover wants to make films and can also be used politically. That’s why it is the best movie released in Indian cinema in recent times. Jigarthanda Double X is a must watch for all movie buffs. Missing out is the theatrical experience of a classic film from this era. A film that can be said to be magnificent with the high it gives in the last 40 minutes. When you leave the theatre, you will be nervous. At least some things happening in your surroundings will annoy you. Karthik Subbaraj tells us that we can talk about politics through the powerful medium of cinema and why films should become popular. One more line… Watch with your heart… This movie will fill your mind..!
