Co-founder Apple Steve Wozniak is healthy again after being treated in hospital in Mexico because he suffered a mild stroke. He has also returned to his home in California, United States.
Wozniak experienced the health problem while in Mexico City last Wednesday (8/11), where he was scheduled to speak at the World Business Forum conference.
While typing on his computer, Wozniak told his wife that he had a headache. This 73 year old man also showed several symptoms that made his wife worried.
Wozniak was then rushed to hospital, which immediately underwent an MRI. MRI results showed Wozniak had small capillary leaks and symptoms of vertigo. The day after being hospitalized, Wozniak immediately flew back to his home in Los Gatos, California.
“I have returned home and feel fine,” Wozniak told The New York Times, as quoted by detikINET, Saturday (11/11/2023).
Wozniak said the worst part of his experience was the hospital requiring him to stay on a gurney for 24 hours. He is also not allowed to sleep on his side.
Due to these health problems, Wozniak had to cancel a number of trips to speak in Dubai; Medellin, Colombia; and Baku, Azerbaijan. “That’s my life at a busy time,” Wozniak said.
Wozniak founded Apple with Steve Jobs in 1976 and helped develop its first computer product. In 1985, the man known as Woz left Apple.
Even though it is no longer part of Apple, Wozniak still diligently attending a number of important company events. He is currently also busy with a number of activities, including joining the space startup Privateer.
Apart from being involved in the world of technology and startups, Wozniak also participated in the Dancing With the Stars dancing competition in 2009 and was a judge on Unicorn Hunters, an online event looking for entrepreneurs who want to establish unicorn startups.
