Last summer, Juventus lost Nicolò Turco, one of the stars of its Primavera. Indeed, the young Italian talent has decided to join Austria and RB Salzburg. During an interview for GOAL Italia, he returned to this choice.
Nicolò Turco was one of Juventus Primavera’s top talents last season, but he decided not to continue in Turin and join RB Salzburg. The young Italian explains that he needed a club that had more confidence in young players. “ I chose to change because here in Salzburg, the club believes a lot in young people, as shown by the first team, practically made up of under-21s. It is a football but also a life experience that shapes you and changes you for the better. A choice that I would make again and that I would recommend to another young Italian. IThey have different projects from those we have in Italy. They are more focused on training young people at home rather than focusing on experienced people to win immediately. When I first saw the sports center, I hadn’t signed up yet. But I said: ‘leave me here’. ” Before his departure, Massimiliano Allegri gave him some advice. « I exchanged a few words with coach Allegri and everything he tells you is advice and something you need for the future. I took everything I was told, cherished it, and still need it today. I am in a different environment. » There is a difference with the B teams in Italy. “ To be honest, it’s totally different from the project they have here, where the B team is made up of very young people, I have a lot of teammates from 2006. It’s as if they were the Italian U19. » He also returned to some young stars of the club, like Matias Soulé and Kenan Yildiz. “ Sometimes in training he did incredible things. He would take the ball and score goals on his own. I expected a good start from Soulé but not so much. It was really devastating, he does monstrous things. I also had more or less the same expectations of Kenan, because I knew him well and he is truly extraordinary as a player and as a boy. »
