This feature comes to help users facilitate the process of moving from an old phone or device to new Samsung phones. It allows users to easily backup files, settings, apps, photos and video to the cloud and restore them again when moving to a new phone. This feature solves a major problem facing Android users when changing the phone, as it provides an excellent solution to save data and facilitate the process of transferring it quickly and reliably.
This feature allows users to store a backup copy of their data on their Galaxy devices, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra or Galaxy Tab S9. It is characterized as a free service without restrictions. It can store all system files, images, videos, and applications with a size of up to 100 GB per file. All this is only possible using the user’s Samsung account and connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi networks.
In addition, Samsung offers a backup storage period of up to 30 days. After this period, Samsung will automatically delete the old backup data. So users should recover data within this period.
Samsung’s temporary backup feature is a powerful tool that makes the transition to new Samsung Galaxy phones easier and safer. By activating the feature, logging in with the same Samsung account and connecting the phone to the Internet via Wi-Fi, users can easily restore files and data on the new device. To access this feature, users can go to Settings, General Management, and then Temporary Cloud Backup.
The temporary backup feature is gradually available to all Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 14 and having the OneUI 6.0 interface. It will be available to all users globally later this year.
