WADA Demands Four-Year Ban for Russian Figure Skater Kamila Valieva at CAS

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has again demanded a four-year ban for Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. The agency made this statement at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the WADA press service reports.

“WADA appealed to CAS in the interests of fairness for athletes and clean sport <…> We have maintained our request for a four-year period of disqualification and the cancellation of all results of the athlete from the date of sampling, including at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing,” TASS quotes the World Anti-Doping Agency’s demand.

CAS previously stated that the decision in the case Kamily Valieva will be accepted by the end of January 2024. In September, the World Anti-Doping Agency did not inform the skater about the discovery of a positive doping test, which is a violation of the protocol, recalls “National News Service.”
