The speakerphone intervention during the last episode of Tale e Quale Show dedicated to the tournament: “I watched you every Friday!”

Surprise (at least for the audience at home) in the final episode of Tale e Quale Show 2023 (followed liveblogging on TvBlog). After much quoting by Cristiano Malgioglio, Mary of Philippi appears – at least on speakerphone – through a gag by the judge on Carlo Conti’s program. His phone rings live, Malgioglio apologizes to the host as if he had forgotten the ringtone was on. He answers the call anyway, revealing that on the other end of the phone there wasn’t an imitation of de Filippi but Maria, the real one.
At that point Conti picks up the phone to check for himself “You played a joke on me” he says, as if he hadn’t realised. He doesn’t make his voice heard immediately but waits a few seconds, just enough time to create hype. Then he turns on the speakerphone of the phone, brings it to his microphone and in the distance there is a “I swear! It’s not a joke!“. From the studio comes the roar of the audience as de Filippi continues to speak: “Last night I was having dinner with Cristiano and Antonella (Clerici, ed.)”.
Judge and guest confirm and that point yes, we can end the gag: it’s the real Maria de Filippi.
“Are you watching all of us?” Conti question “Yes! I’m looking at all of you” replies Maria. “How are we doing? Well? Do you like the program? Are we worth it?” the host continues, semi-quoting a term from You are worth it, “You are doing very well! I see you every Friday eh!” she replies, receiving thanks from Carlo Conti: “Everybody greets you“.
Then he goes to Malgioglio, dressed – as usual – with an eccentric look, adorned with eyes everywhere: “I don’t know if Malgioglio is looking at you – he jokes – because he doesn’t know with which eye to look at you“, Maria replies playing on it “We need to ask Giorgio (Panariello, ed.) who knows that he said he has conjunctivitis“.
Once Maria de Filippi has been dismissed, it can be said that the intervention on the Rai 1 show, lasting about a minute, comes as a small gift to that friend who strongly wanted her with him in the third and (so far) last Sanremo Festival by Carlo Conti, in 2017. To make a mischievous joke, by the end of the episode Milly Carlucci could show up by suddenly coming out of Tale e Quale’s elevator or through an intervention by Emanuela Aureli…
