HONOR successfully solves the problem of producing smartphones with a competitive price without sacrificing quality. The fresh X5 Plus model, introduced this summer for the global market, recently appeared on sale in Russia. Does the device have everything needed for buyers on a budget?
Characteristics HONOR X5 Plus
Externally, the smartphone looks in the style of the brand: beautiful and elegant. The plastic case is available in two versions: black and an interesting shade of turquoise. The 6.56-inch IPS screen has a refresh rate of 90 Hz, but a modest HD+ resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels. The 100% sRGB range of 16.7 million shades promises natural color reproduction.
The device is built on a 12nm MediaTek Helio G36 chipset, which scores just over 100K AnTuTu points. This platform is capable of solving everyday tasks, but of course it cannot cope with demanding games and 3D graphics. The modest amount of RAM of 4 GB matches the capabilities of the processor. The small storage size of 64 GB can be expanded using a microSD card. The card tray is hybrid, so you have to choose between expanding the storage and a second SIM card.
HONOR X5 Plus is equipped with a slightly increased capacity 5200 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, can withstand up to 17 hours of viewing video content. There is no fast charging, so the 10-watt adapter will spend a lot of time replenishing the battery. The cable connects via a USB Type-C port with support for the OTG standard.
The main lens is implemented on a 50 MP sensor and is equipped with an LED flash. When shooting portraits, it is assisted by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. There are many shooting modes, and in good lighting you can get good shots. The front camera with a modest resolution of 5 MP is housed in an outdated drop.
Wireless communication is provided by dual-frequency Wi-Fi (802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.1 with support for six major codecs. There is no NFC module for contactless payments. The 3.5 mm audio jack allows you to connect wired headphones.
The device comes with Android 13 OS and the proprietary MagicOS 7.1 shell.
