With the return of its internationals, Stade Toulouse should easily win against Perpignan in last place. Same story on the side of La Rochelle where Bayonne should have difficulty facing the many executives who are returning. Pau, the leader could experience a first defeat on home soil against the largely reinforced UBB.
Toulouse – Perpignan
Last year the USAP had already tasted the joys of the return of the Toulouse internationals, in the 52nd minute Antoine Dupont, Anthony Jelonch, Julien Marchand, Charles Faumunia entered the pitch. This year “the Avengers” could be lined up from the start. Bad news for Perpignan, last in the championship and which should not take a single point from Ernest-Wallon.
Our prediction: improved victory for Toulouse
Castres – Oyonnax:
Solid since the start of the season Castres can consolidate its place in the top 6 against Oyomen who have not brought back a single point from their trips this season. Even if Jeremy Davidson’s men will not be able to count on their international hooker Gaëtan Barlot, they should maintain their unbeaten home record against the promoted side and continue their good start to the season.
Our prediction: victory for Castres
Lyon – Stade Français
Le Lou is having a checkered start to the season, but the good match – despite the defeat – on the (synthetic) pitch of Racing could definitely cast them. For that, nothing better than a big test with the reception of the other Paris club, Stade Français, third in the Top 14, which is having a good start to the season. So with their big team, the Lyonnais could bend the men of the capital who nevertheless come to achieve a result.
Our prediction: victory for Lyon, defensive bonus for Stade Français
Montpellier – Clermont
Currently playing off the championship, the Montpelierians are really not having the dream start to the season, having already lost on home soil against Racing. For its part, Clermont has had a good start to the season and is positioned in 4th place in the ranking. But outside its lands the ASM cannot do it, so for them this match is the perfect opportunity to finally open their away victory counter. But Montpellier will absolutely want to avoid a new setback at the GGL which would bog the club down in crisis.
Our prediction: victory for Montpellier, defensive bonus for Clermont
Pau – Bordeaux-Bègles
Surprise leader of this Top 14, Pau confirmed its excellent start to the season against Stade Toulouse (13-9 victory). But the Section should welcome a big UBB team which could record the return of Matthieu Jalibert but also the possible first match of Penaud under his new colors. So, Yannick Bru’s men could well achieve the big blow of this sixth day by winning at Le Hameau.
Our prediction: UBB victory
La Rochelle – Bayonne
Stade Rochelais is not far from crisis with its four defeats in five matches, but Ronan O’Gara can now count on all his internationals (only Alldritt is missing). For its part, Bayonne has never been very solid away from home. For La Rochelle this is a golden opportunity to launch their season in earnest.
Our prediction: improved victory for La Rochelle
Toulon – Racing 92
Second in the championship, Racing has had a good start to the season and has already achieved a big success by winning away from home (Montpellier). For Toulon this exercise is more complicated for the moment, and Pierre Mignoni’s men experienced a worrying setback on the USAP pitch. Charles Ollivon and Gabin Villière on vacation for the next fortnight, Racing could come and win at Mayol and solidify its place in the top 2. Note that Racing 92 has won these last four confrontations against the RCT.
Our prediction: victory for Racing, defensive bonus for Toulon
