Man Shot in Possible Robbery in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan: NYPD Investigation

A man was shot in the back early this morning in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan in what is being investigated as a possible robbery.

The NYPD reported that the shooting occurred around 6:15 a.m. Thursday near 52nd Street and 11th Avenue, in Midtown West.

The victim is a 32-year-old Queens man, but his name was not released. He was transported to Mount Sinai West Hospital in stable condition y was able to declare to the policehighlighted ABC News.

In the initial conversation he told detectives that he was walking towards the Mercedes Benz dealer when the suspect approached him and a verbal altercation occurred. The gunman pulled out a gun and shot several times, one of which hit him in the left upper back, police said.

Nothing was stolen, so it is still unclear if this was an attempted robbery. Authorities say the suspect fled southbound on 11th Avenue. He was described as a short man (5’5), with a white beard and dressed all in black.
