On November 9, the Ministry of Public Security said that the Asia-Pacific Conference of Prison Management Officers (APCCA) was held for the first time in 1980, and by 2023 there will be 34 prison management agencies. Official members in 25 countries and have gone through 40 Conferences in different countries in the region.
The conference took place from November 12 to 16, hosted by the Ministry of Public Security, with the Police Department managing prisons, compulsory education establishments, and reformatories presiding in coordination with functional units of the Ministry of Public Security. held at Grand Plaza Hotel (No. 117 Tran Duy Hung, Trung Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi); Thanh Xuan prison (Thanh Oai, Hanoi); Quang Ninh prison (Dong Trieu, Quang Ninh province).
The conference had the participation of more than 200 delegates from 25 countries, 3 international organizations, representatives of domestic press agencies and 18 diplomatic agencies. This is the second time the Ministry of Public Security (Police Department that manages prisons, compulsory education establishments, and reformatories) has hosted the event.

The conference organized and discussed topics, including: Difficulties, challenges and solutions in prison work in Vietnam.
Provide a safe detention environment and medical care for prisoners with mental disorders, behavioral disorders, prisoners with drug-related problems and prisoners with disabilities.
Minimize recidivism through community reintegration programs before and after prisoners complete their prison sentences.
Effectively cooperate with private partners and social and professional organizations in labor, career guidance, vocational training and prisoner reform education.
Improve facilities, technology and training to serve reformative education in prisons and the community.
In parallel with the theoretical work, the Conference organized sightseeing activities, learning experiences, and practical exchanges at Thanh Xuan prison and Quang Ninh prison, in addition to introducing a number of scenic spots. landscape, promoting Vietnamese culture, country and people.
With the policy of elevating multilateral foreign relations according to the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, APCCA 41 affirms the determination of the Vietnam Police to continue innovation and comprehensive international integration.
