The Japan Football Association (hereinafter referred to as JFA) and JFA’s official supplier Adidas Japan Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Adidas) launch the “Development Generation Support Project JFA Adidas DREAM ROAD” targeting players in their development years. I decided to do so.
This project was launched as part of the value co-creation activities between the JFA and Adidas, and aims to provide a fulfilling environment and world-standard training opportunities to players in their development years, who are rapidly growing physically and mentally, and to help them become “world-standard players.” This is done for the purpose of nurturing.
As the first step, we plan to send four players to Real Sociedad, a professional league in Spain, from Monday, November 20, 2023 to Sunday, December 3, 2023, and have them participate in the club’s training. . Real Sociedad is a club whose hometown is Sebastian, Basque Country, and Takefusa Kubo of SAMURAI BLUE (Japan National Team) plays for this club.
Additionally, from November 26th (Sunday) to December 10th (Sunday), six players will be sent to FC Bayern Munich (Munich, Bavaria), the champions of Germany’s Bundesliga for 11 consecutive seasons. is. The players who are active in each club are as follows.
The footage of each player participating in Real Sociedad and FC Bayern Munich’s practice will be streamed on JFA’s YouTube channel “JFATV.”
JFA and Adidas will continue to work hard to develop Japanese soccer while leveraging their respective strengths.

When I have the ball, I have the ability to dribble toward the goal and use my teammates well to move forward. On the other hand, I feel there are issues with the quality of the passes. Real Sociedad’s players have a high quality of technique, including their passing, so I want to absorb that as much as possible and quickly catch up with and surpass the quality of those around me. I am confident that by overcoming these challenges, we can make even more use of our current strengths. In this program, I want to be able to adapt to the environment and pitch as quickly as possible and make use of my strengths.

This time, when I went to study abroad for a short period of time at a very famous club called Real Sociedad, I would like to improve my strengths through various training and games, grow to be able to turn my weaknesses into strengths, understand the local language, and learn about the club. I want to communicate a lot with the players and staff. I also hope that I can learn about and understand the local culture, which is different from Japan. I want to challenge myself so that I can experience various things in these two weeks, so that I can grow even more when it’s over. I feel grateful for being able to participate in activities like this, and I want to do my best to have a good image when I play overseas in the future.

I am very happy and honored to be able to participate in this program. I want to play aggressively in training and games locally and test whether my weapons of shooting and capturing the ball from the top will work. Maximize your strengths and lead to growth. Although there is a language barrier, I will try my best to communicate and imagine what it would be like to play overseas.

I am grateful to everyone involved for creating this opportunity for me to grow, and I hope that I will be able to play with overseas players, absorb things that I cannot experience in Japan, and utilize them in my future soccer career. I want to play aggressively and with a spirit of challenge.

I think that through this activity I will be able to clearly understand where I am successful and what I am not, so I want to make each day’s practices and games a meaningful time that will lead to my own growth so that I can gain more of that awareness. . Although it is a short period of time, he will become a player who has more impact than anyone else in terms of soccer and daily communication!

My weapons are defensively, such as interpersonal defense, coaching, and competitive strength. However, since we will be playing overseas this time, the challenge unique to this program is to what extent we can coach local players. Learn vocabulary and short phrases to be able to communicate before you participate. Even compared to our domestic rivals, I feel that we have some issues with our current technology. Through this program, I hope to overcome some challenges and gain confidence. Participating in practice at an overseas club is not something you get to experience very often, so I would like to find challenges and gains while practicing, and bring back even more with me.

I am happy to have been selected for this program. I would like to absorb as much as possible from this program so that I can use it as an opportunity to change my daily life. To achieve this, I want to put myself out there on and off the pitch, actively join the circle of Bayern players, and communicate with as many people as possible. In soccer, I want to be proactive in my training and games in order to clarify my strengths and issues. I want to make this short period of about two weeks a very deep experience for myself, and come back as a grown person.
MF Yasuto Kanda (Kanda Taito)

I want to play in the world’s best environment and live in a foreign country as a great opportunity to grow myself. I look forward to seeing how well the plays that work in Japan will work locally, no matter what challenges may arise, and enjoy this valuable experience.

I am very happy to be able to participate in such a program. It’s my first time playing with players from overseas, so I’ll start by thinking about how we can communicate with each other. I would like to actively challenge myself to see how far my dribbling, which is my number one weapon, can be used in the world’s top class, get a feel for my current deficiencies and weaknesses, and utilize them in the future so that I can overcome them. Thank you for giving me this valuable opportunity. I’m grateful to be able to experience how effective I am overseas, and I want to watch and learn from the world’s top-level players, perform to the best of my abilities, and return home having grown. I will also do my best to provide good motivation to the team.

SAMURAI BLUE (Japan Representative) Supervisor Yasuichi Mori
Through this project with Adidas, I hope to co-create a way for soccer culture to take root in Japan and for players to grow through soccer. I believe that by gaining overseas experience from a young age, you can really absorb a lot of things in terms of soccer and life, so I think it’s really great that the players have had the opportunity to grow through this project. I want the players to cherish the experience of taking on new challenges in a new environment, and I hope that they will use it to grow in the future. Specifically, I felt and thought about how to express myself technically, physically, and in terms of communication, and how to adapt to the environment, and in the end, I decided to do better after returning than before leaving Japan. I would be happy if I could see myself growing.
JFA Youth Development Director Masanaga Kageyama
First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Adidas Japan for creating such a wonderful environment for Japan’s potential players. As you all know, the recent achievements of the Japanese national team and its players have been remarkable. Each player grew up with dreams of being active in the J.League as a professional and playing overseas, and now a national team has been formed with many players playing overseas. We, the JFA, form a national team for the developmental age group and travel overseas, but for Japan, an island country located in the Far East, international experience is essential. However, the number of times we do this is limited, and even when we go on road trips, we all stay in the same hotel, and most of our activities involve commuting between the hotel, the stadium, and the practice field. Nowadays, young players are inspired by watching the successes of their seniors, and the age at which they challenge themselves overseas is getting younger. We are wondering how we can create opportunities to gain international experience other than traveling abroad as a member of the national team. I have been thinking about what kind of contribution JFA can make. I think it’s not hard to imagine that playing overseas is not at all easy. Studying abroad as a true overseas experience will require you to speak with and understand your local teammates and staff as equals, to respond to a higher intensity in terms of play, and to enjoy local meals. You are required to build your body to withstand it. By continuing this valuable experience over the medium to long term with the support of Adidas Japan, we hope to be able to envision a concrete image of playing overseas and be able to take on the challenge with confidence. Our goal is to develop strong athletes.
Comments from Adidas Japan Brand Activation Senior Director Ken Yamamoto
I am very happy to be able to work on a project like this with JFA. Through this project, the dispatched athletes will be able to gain high-level experience by placing themselves in a world-class environment while making the most of the opportunities provided by the global brand Adidas, such as innovation and products, contract teams, and connections with athletes. We will do our best to support you.
At adidas, we believe that through sports, we have the power to change people’s lives. Through this project, we hope that not only the dispatched players but also many players in Japan’s developmental age group will be inspired to work harder on soccer, allowing soccer to take root deeper as a culture in Japan and enriching people’s lives. I hope you go.
