The argument between the two drivers escalated at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of the B 124 and the B 123 in Pregarten. But before that, the two brawlers had repeatedly hindered and slowed each other down for miles, with one dangerous driving maneuver following the other. It started on the Mühlkreisautobahn, then went over the Mühlviertler expressway S10 and then onto the B 124. During the maneuvers, one driver, an 18-year-old from the Freistadt district, damaged the 63-year-old Linzer’s car – whose left wing mirror was broken breaking in the process. The man from Linz suddenly got out at the B 124 / B 123 intersection, took an ax from his car and aimed it at the driver and his passenger with clear movements, also threatening to kill them.
A witness reported this to the police – shortly afterwards, the 63-year-old came personally to the police station and reported the incident. During the subsequent check, two axes and two knives as well as a gas pistol were found in the 63-year-old’s car. A provisional weapons ban was issued against the man.
Handlebar was on drugs
When questioning his 18-year-old opponent, the police discovered that the boy appeared to be impaired by drugs. A voluntary urine test was carried out and was positive. During the clinical examination, it was determined that he was unfit to drive, which is why his driver’s license was temporarily withdrawn. Both are displayed.
