Jokowi to Attend OIC Summit in Saudi Arabia Discussing Gaza Conflict

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will attend the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) High Level Conference (Summit) in Saudi Arabia. The summit is said to be discussing the Israel versus Hamas conflict.

Attendance information Jokowi This was confirmed by the Presidential Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana, to the OIC Summit. He said Jokowi would attend the OIC summit discussing Gaza.

“Yes, that’s right, the president is planned to attend the OIC extraordinary summit to discuss Gaza,” Ari told reporters, Wednesday (8/11/2023).

It is known that the OIC will hold an Islamic High Level Conference (KTT) for its member countries. The conference will be held on Sunday, November 12 2023, at the invitation of Saudi Arabia.

“The OIC will hold an Extraordinary Islamic Summit at the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in its capacity as Chair of the current Islamic Summit, on Sunday, 28 Rabiul Akhir 1445 H to coincide with 12 November 2023,” said the OIC statement, quoted on Wednesday (8/11/ 2023).

The invitation was addressed to the foreign ministers (Menlu) of the OIC countries. The aim of holding this extraordinary meeting includes discussing the condition of the Gaza Strip and its civilians who continue to receive Israeli attacks.
