Direct speech: “Now they (evacuated citizens of Ukraine – ed.) are safe in Egypt, where Ukrainian diplomats are providing them with the necessary assistance.”
Details: According to the president, the Ukrainian side helped evacuate 36 Moldovan citizens.
“The evacuation continues. Our embassies in Israel and Egypt, as well as other relevant agencies, are working hard to remove more of our citizens from Gaza,” Zelensky said.
Speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko said that our consuls met the Ukrainians at the Rafah checkpoint and ensured their transportation to their place of temporary stay. A further flight to one of the countries neighboring Ukraine is being prepared.
“The evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip continues. Our embassies in Israel and Egypt and other involved Ukrainian departments are now actively involved. We are working on the removal of Ukrainians on November 8 and 9. Permission to leave a new number of citizens has been received,” he noted.
The Foreign Ministry speaker also noted that, given the limited capacity of the Rafah checkpoint, evacuation occurs exclusively within the limits of the lists of foreigners agreed upon by the local departments involved.
The issue of evacuating Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip is under the personal control of Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
Let us remind you: USA recognizedthat “thousands” of people were killed and injured in the Gaza Strip during October as a result of fighting between Hamas militants and Israel.
