Kerala overcame its lagging behind in the medals table, including in athletics, and climbed up the medal table at the National Games. Yesterday, on the first day of the Kalaripayat competition, which was included in the National Games for the first time, the Kerala players bagged 11 golds. With two more golds in kayaking and one silver in judo yesterday, Kerala moved from ninth to sixth in the medal table.

Nair, Ajeesh KS, Gokul, Nandana and Bilal Abdul Latif played for Kerala yesterday in Kalari. Collected medals. Megha Pradeep and G Parvathy won gold in kayaking. Saleesha won the silver medal in Juda.
Kerala has won a total of 72 medals including 28 gold, 21 silver and 23 bronze medals. Maharashtra is on the first position with 203 medals including 70 gold. Kerala is hoping to reach the fourth position in the medal table as there are still matches in Kalari today.
