Introducing =nil; — a zkRollup that securely scales Ethereum to 60,000+ TPS through zkSharding. It takes modular and monolithic architecture advantages for scaling as it maintains unified liquidity and state while achieving full composability with Ethereum.

The new development represents an alternative approach to scaling, involving the integration of multiple shards into a single execution level (L2). This approach combines modular and monolithic architectures, which is suitable for data-intensive dapps.
The zkSharding layer 2 solution will be powered by zkEVM technology, providing support for a wide range of decentralized applications.
“We are excited to finally announce the availability of zkSharding to the broader Ethereum developer community, making it suitable for running high-load, data-intensive applications such as decentralized sequencers, programmable information availability solutions, exchanges, offline worlds, and more. “said Mikhail Komarov, CEO and co-founder of the Nil Foundation.
Representatives of the startup are confident that zkSharding is able to “safely scale” the second largest cryptocurrency by capitalization, providing a throughput of 60,000 TPS and higher.
Sharding has long been an integral part of the Ethereum roadmap, involving parallel processing and validation of transactions in order to reduce user costs and increase the speed of transactions.
According to the developers, zkSharding combines various architectural principles. The system consists of a main shard where zero-knowledge proofs authenticate transactions as part of the second-layer construct. At the same time, subshards serve to increase throughput.
Founded in 2018, the Nil Foundation developed the Proof Market protocol. It allows blockchains and L1 and L2 protocols to generate zero-knowledge proofs on demand.
Let us remind you that in January the startup raised $22 million at a valuation of $220 million.
