The surgery
Three years after the operation to remove the breast tumor, Rettore returned to the clinic but this time for a more common problem. In the past few hours Donatella Rettore, 68 years old, underwent a intervention to the carpal tunnel, a routine day hospital surgical operation, which had been planned for some time. Although the operation is simple and decidedly rapid, the previous clinical pathologies of the Rector – a former cancer patient suffering from thalassemia – they did however raise the level of attention on the operation, which had a positive outcome. The singer had not leaked anything from social media so as not to worry her fans, but at the end of the intervention she still decided to appear on Instagram for a brief greeting, but the images of her alarmed the public.

In the video, published in the afternoon, Rettore appeared in a wheelchair with a surgical cap on her head, a mask on her face and an isothermal blanket on her. What frightened her many fans were the artist’s conditions: in the short film recorded probably immediately after leaving the operating room, she was visibly confused, with a dull look and a voice thickened byanesthesia still to be disposed of. In her social video Donatella Rettore mumbled a few words – as if wanting to talk about her dogs Lupo, Collins and Tigre – while the caption of her post read: “Carpal tunnel surgery finished…And now the convalescence“. The video in fact triggered panic among the followers, who began to comment worriedly, so much so that the artist’s staff decided to take action by removing the content.
