Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Jung Kwan Jang Red Sparks issued an official warning regarding the behavior of supporters following the behavior of Indonesian fans who supported it Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi and the club.
Megawati’s impressive performance with the Red Sparks in the Korean Volleyball League attracted interest from Indonesians living in Korea to provide direct support to the stadium.
This direct support was seen when Red Sparks lost 0-3 to Hi Pass at Chungmu Gymnasium. However, in the away match against Gwangju AI Peppers, last weekend, the support from the supporters increased and they rented three buses.

However, this massive support led to criticism from Ginseng Country volleyball fans. It is claimed that Indonesian supporters who support Megawati and the Red Sparks show a dishonorable attitude.
In a number of reports in the Korean media, Indonesian fans who come to Yeomju Gymnasium often mock opposing players when serving. There was also a noisy moment when AI Peppers took a time out.
Other annoying behavior that Korean volleyball fans complained about was Megawati fans blocking the view of other spectators, being louder than the home fans, making politically charged posters, and even insulting the Korean flag.
The incident was widely circulated on social media, both in Korea and Indonesia. Indonesian fans who support Megawati and the Red Sparks directly at the stadium are asked to respect local culture.
Red Sparks released a statement via the comments column in the video upload. However, a few hours later, an official warning was issued by the three-time Korean League champions.
“So that everyone can enjoy the game, please follow etiquette [tata cara] cheer by caring for each other,” wrote Red Sparks.
“Regardless of politics, religion or race, players must do their best in the game and fans must cheer,” added Red Sparks.
The team coached by Ko Hee Jin also underlined that the true spirit in sport is to support and care for each other regardless of winning or losing.
In order to build a healthy supportive culture, Red Sparks issued rules and restrictions for spectators.
“It is prohibited to display political slogans, phrases, etc. while watching the match. It is prohibited to damage and desecrate the national flag of one’s own country or other countries. It is prohibited to criticize and ridicule the opposing team/players. Do not disturb the game with camera flashes or anything else.”
“It is prohibited to cheer for the away team in the zone [area] host. It is prohibited to occupy places other than the designated spectator seats and enter the playing field. It is prohibited to cheer while standing excessively so as to obstruct the view of other spectators. Unethical and immoral filming during player warm-up is prohibited.”
On this occasion, Red Sparks also promised to issue a release in Indonesian and English so that it could be better understood by all parties.
