OnePlus 12: Top Display, Performance, and Sony Sensor – Premiere Next Month

OnePlus 12 will please even the most demanding users
Its equipment includes a top display, tremendous performance and a brand new photo sensor from Sony
The premiere will probably take place next month

The OnePlus brand recently introduced its very first smartphone with a flexible display, and according to foreign reviewers, it is a very successful device. For more conservative users, the Chinese manufacturer is preparing a regular flagship called the OnePlus 12, which could theoretically see the light of day this year.

OnePlus 12 will get a top display

The first fragments of the OnePlus 12 began to appear a few weeks ago, most of them are behind reputable informants, but some were revealed by certification authorities. From the first box comes information about the display – according to Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 12 will get a 6.82″ screen with a resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.8:9. The display from BOE’s workshop is supposed to be of the LTPO AMOLED type with a variable refresh rate of 1-120 Hz, a maximum of 2600 nits and a high-frequency PWM dimming of 2160 Hz.

Brand new sensor from Sony

The OnePlus 12 is also expected to receive an upgraded camera setup with the following parameters:

50 Mpx main (new 1/1.4″ Sony IMX966 sensor) 50 Mpx wide-angle (as yet unknown 1/2″ sensor) with f/2.2 aperture 64 Mpx telephoto lens (OmniVision OV64B) with optical stabilization and 3x lossless zoom

We expect the most spectacle from the main camera, which is set to achieve a first in the smartphone world – it will be the very first LYTIA layered image sensor from Sony, which, thanks to its double-layer transistor structure, is supposed to capture more light and increase the overall quality of images taken in poor lighting conditions. The President of OnePlus China Li Jie published several photos of this very sensor on the Chinese Weibo network.

Power to give away

There is no doubt that the OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s current most powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. After all, its use was also revealed by the AnTuTu benchmark, in which records from pre-production units of the OnePlus 12 appeared. The phone was equipped with 12 GB of RAM, although there is also speculation about variants with 16 and 24 GB of operating memory. But the tested unit certainly did not embarrass itself in the benchmark – it took home a respectable 2,110,808 points.

The return of wireless charging

The OnePlus 12 will also want to excel in the area of endurance and charging. According to Chinese sources, the phone should be equipped with an extra-large battery with a capacity of 5400 mAh, which will retain support for fast 100-watt charging. The novelty is supposed to be wireless charging with a power of up to 50 watts, which is an element that was missing from the last generation for incomprehensible reasons.

According to the Chinese certification, the charging speed will be the same as the OnePlus 11

Premiere next month?

The OnePlus 11 smartphone was unveiled twice – first on January 7 for the Chinese market, then on February 16 for the rest of the world. We also expect a double premiere for the OnePlus 12, but this time it will probably take place a little earlier, it is speculated that the official Chinese unveiling will take place already in December of this year. The global version could arrive sometime after the New Year.
