Massa announced this within the framework of the meeting he held with the workers, where they advanced a series of measures that will increase the protection of the sector, and provide tools from the State to improve the conditions for the development of the activity.
In this framework, Massa confirmed that the online Comprehensive Protection system for people who carry out delivery activities was made available to cadets and delivery workers: “What we want is that the worker who rides the motorcycle, the bike, the the street distributing, don’t have an accident and be left without income, does not have loss of retirement rights, but rather is protected by the State,” he added.
This is a pilot test for 60 days.which will begin to be available as of December 15, to analyze the results and form a team that analyzes the results and can systematize the information to work on a bill to regulate the activity, in agreement with the workers, the companies, and all the actors that participate in this type of economic activity.
During the meeting, the Minister of Economy highlighted that the objective is “to reach those more than 600,000 Argentinians who often do it as their only job, and many times as a second job, participate in platform economies and until today were unprotected. With the particularity that the State absorbs the cost of protection, to guarantee that each of the workers is protected.”
In 2023, More than 200,000 workers provided services at least once through mobility platforms. This represents around 10% of the volume of monotributistas and 1.8% of employed people in Argentina. In turn, in 2022, the platforms generated income for a total of 67.5 billion pesos in the country.
