Dry eye is a condition in which the eye does not produce enough tears. Tear dysfunction can occur when your eyes do not produce enough tears. This condition is very common among children and adults.

Dr. Shorouk Hossam, Consultant in Ophthalmology at Minya University, confirmed that dry eyes are a common condition that has spread widely due to the frequent use of computers and mobile phones, and that it may sometimes be accompanied by eye allergies.

The ophthalmologist added in a special statement to Al-Youm Al-Sabea: Dry Eye It can occur when your eyes do not produce a sufficient amount of tears, and it can be easily noticed by feeling a burning and coughing sensation in the eye, along with eye heaviness, redness, and severe sensitivity to light if treatment is neglected for a long time.

She pointed out that in mild cases of dry eyes resulting from causes that are not serious, they can be treated using artificial tear drops or other lubricating eye drops, as artificial tear drops are usually the first step in treating dry eyes.

However, if the eye is accompanied by severe allergies, medicinal drops are prescribed to reduce inflammation and thus increase the production of tears naturally, but they are usually prescribed for only two weeks by the doctor.
