Ln November 1st, our National Army celebrated its 63rd anniversary. Taking up arms, decorations and parade, thus giving the image of a united army, serving the land of Faso. However, this army is facing its destiny since it waged the war against terrorism. A major test in its history, in our history, because the fate of the entire homeland is at the end of its cannon. This war is a great opportunity to reconcile the great mute with the people and with herself, torn apart in recent years by class and generational quarrels. This is why there is no outcome other than victory. This will be an opportunity for a new beginning, together. In two years, the Burkina army is changing its face. Reinforced by thousands of recruits, including the VDP, equipment better suited to the response and above all a strong desire to fight. Everything is not yet perfect at the front, but we want to believe, because this war is tiring financially and humanly.
We are a long way from the two lightning wars of 1974 and 1985 against neighboring Mali which, ironically, finds itself, like us, in the eye of the terrorist storm. Ironically, the two enemies of yesterday are allies today, with the same objective, to win or perish.
