The Ministry of Education of Belarus reported that in 2024, some applicants will be able to apply for admission to universities without exams, having successfully passed the Universiade. The head of the vocational education department of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Pishchov, called this an “additional trajectory.”
“The quotas for enrolling applicants without entrance examinations have not changed, they remain the same as last year – up to 15% of the admission quotas. Let me remind you that this applies to the winners of the final stage of university Olympiads – holders of diplomas of 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees,” clarified Sergei Pishchov, transmits state agency Belt.
The Ministry of Education has planned such university Olympiads in 21 universities across the country. Starting in November, everyone will have to register to participate in them. The Olympics will be held in two stages. The first – preliminary – will be held online. Those who passed it will have to appear in person for the final one.
To understand, in 2023, 800 applicants throughout the country became such winners, and only 370 of them took advantage of the right to preferential admission.
Earlier, Telegraf reported that the Ministry of Education of Belarus promised to expand the list of specialties that some (!) applicants will be allowed to enroll in without exams. This became known on November 6.
