The PSD leadership decided, on Monday morning, the return of Gabriela Firea to the position of president of PSD Bucharest and first vice-president at the national level, sources from the party told G4Media.ro. According to them, the decision was taken unanimously.
After the “Horror Asylums” scandal, Marcel Ciolacu explained that in the party’s Statute there is no possibility of self-suspension and that is why the suspension of Gabriela Firea “for a period of time” from the position of president of the PSD Bucharest organization and the appointment of Paul Acting Stanescu in this position.
The PSD leader stated at the time that Gabriela Firea was also suspended from the position of first vice-president of the party.
Context
Gabriela Firea announced, on July 14, after the Asylums of Horror scandal, that she resigned from the position of Minister of the Family and that she is leaving, for the moment, from the headship of the Bucharest PSD organization.
Firea stated at the time that she is paying “for the guilt of having trusted people” and claims that the objective of her “demolitionists” from many directions is to stop running for the Capital City Hall, because all the polls show that she would have won in any political formula.
Firea claimed that Ștefan Godei, the patron of the horror asylums in Voluntari, was never her driver, but worked as a driver at the Capital City Hall and “served colleagues from the senatorial cabinet for a while.”
The reaction comes after G4Media and other publications revealed that Firea also hired Godei in the senator’s office, after the patron of the horror asylums had previously been a driver at Bucharest City Hall.
Godei, the patron of the horror asylums, was employed by Gabriela Firea in the senator’s office between January 2021 and February 2023, according to an official document consulted by G4Media. This means that he was hired in FIrea’s cabinet immediately after she won the position of senator in the December 2020 elections.
According to Digi24, Ștefan Godei also worked for other companies and institutions managed by Gabriela Firea and Florentin Pandele: the football club FC Voluntari and RATB.
