the essential Designer of wedding dresses, Cynthia Renolde of “MaisonC” would like to participate in New York Fashion Week. For this she calls on the Ulule participatory prize pool.
She has a pretty incredible project. Cynthia Renolde, wedding dress designer at “Maison C” since 2019 in Toulouse, would like to fly to the United States in October 2024 during Fashion Week in New York and present her models. The daring and talented young woman has just created a line of models from 34 to 54. A range of sizes that is quite rare in the wedding sector, except if we go by the custom-made box: “New York Fashion Week is a major event in fashion, she assures. It is one of the four biggest fashion weeks in the world, with Paris, London, Milan and is chronologically first in the calendar. All buyers from all over the world come to this unique moment. And all stylists dream of going there. It’s “The place to be” the place where you have to be as they say to be spotted. In my case, I hope to be able to sell my collection in boutiques in the city, specialized in weddings.”
The dream of New York Fashion Week
Ready-to-wear stylist, Cynthia creates her wedding dresses that are both elegant and practical with the idea of being able to wear them every day: “Wedding outfits are often models that we wear only once because they are too sophisticated for every day, she believes. With this collection, I made models that can be carried over. For example, a Calais lace top that’s easy to wear with jeans, dresses in which I reduce the train so that I can wear them every day. Or even wedding dresses with thin straps that can also be worn in summer. The young woman designs all her models, helped for this collection by a workshop in Brittany. The 100% natural raw materials come from Italy (silk) and France for lace.
But for this trip, Cynthia needs €10,000. She therefore called on the Ulule participatory platform to make her project a reality. “The trip to the United States is expensive. There’s also accommodation, model pay, etc.). Moreover, the goal is to exceed €10,000. It’s also a way of promoting Toulouse and proving that the Pink City has a lot of talent to cross continents. And as Cynthia definitely likes challenges, she opens in February, March, April in Toulouse, with several partners, “Maison Alchemin”, a pop-up boutique at the Capitole, around the organization of the wedding. For the moment, a unique concept in France.
