A renowned filmmaker has died. Editor Alois Fišárek participated in the preparation of the Oscar-winning film Koljo or Dark Blue World, among other things. He collaborated with Nova television on the production of the series Redakce. His work has been admired by entire generations despite the fact that he chose a profession that tends to be of little interest to film.
Alois Fišárek, the son of the famous Czech painter and bearer of the same name, was born in Opočné in 1943 and lived to be a respectable 80 years old.
The bearer of the Czech Lion for the editing of the films Kolja, Akumulator 1, Tmavomodrý svět, Kuky se vráci and Kanárek also received an award from the Czech Film and Television Academy for his outstanding contribution to Czech cinematography in 2018.
He collaborated with a number of renowned directors including Věra Chytilová, Vojtěch Jasného, Jan Němek and Jan Svěrák. Fišárek also devoted himself to television work and participated in the preparation of the series Redakce at Nova. He met the world of theater professionally thanks to Laterna magice. He edited film parts of some performances for her.
Fišárka’s first steps in the world of cinematography led to the Czechoslovak Army Film, where he was employed in the years 1965 – 1972. He graduated from the FAMU in Prague in 1968. He worked there as a teacher until 2002 and for a time was also the head of the Department of Editing. “He chose a field away from the attention of cameras and viewers,” the website reminds Culture Hradec.
